Description

  • NOTE: Post mounting bracket sold separately. The recommended setup requires two hinges and two mounting plates.
  • SureClose hinges for bolt-on applications.
  • Allows a gate to swing to a maximum of 180 degrees in one direction.
  • Hinge requires face of gate and post to be flush.
  • Requires minimum post size of 2" x 2".
  • Self-closing or non self-closing versions available.
  • Self-closing version closes from 0 to 85 degrees and holds open from 86-180 degrees.
  • Hold open feature renders this hinge not suitable for child/pool safety.
  • See swing diagram above for a clear visual representation of this info.
  • Hydraulics are concealed within the post, providing a controlled and quiet close in a tamper resistant design that will not leak.
  • Adjustable self-closing speed.
  • Does not offer resistance if closed quickly in an emergency.
  • Features dual thrust ball bearings to help withstand heavy loads.
  • Hinge gap between frame and gate is 1/2".

These hinges can be used in any of the following combinations:

  • Use 2 of our SKU 928514 to self-close a gate up to 180 pounds*.
  • Use 1 of our SKU 928514 and 1 of SKU 928512 to self-close a gate up to 90 pounds*.
  • Use 2 of our SKU 928512 to hold a gate up to 1500 pounds* (will not self-close).
  • * Weight ratings based on a maximum gate size of 72" high x 40" wide.

All D&D Technologies’ (“D&D”) proprietary* products are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship to the original purchaser for as long as they own the product.

If a structural defect appears, the original purchaser may return the item, freight prepaid, together with proof of purchase to D&D or its approved international agents.

D&D or its agent will, at their discretion, repair or replace the defective item or part without charge to the purchaser.  THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY WHEN the product has been tampered with, when repairs or attempted repairs have been made by unauthorized persons, where the item has been subjected to misuse, abuse, accident or damage in transit, or where the installer has not followed the instructions set out during installation, operations or Maintenance Requirements.

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. No warranty is given other than that set out above. No other express or implied warranties (including statutory warranties) apply, other than warranties which may not be legally excluded.

How long does it take to get my hardware once it's been ordered?

The delivery time depends on how far you live from our San Diego warehouse. Generally, your order will reach you in 1 to 5 business days. Shipments do not move on weekends and holidays.

Do you ship merchandise outside the United States?

At this time, we only ship to addresses in the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. For APO/FPO/DPO and Canadian orders, please email info@hardwaresource.com with a list of the SKU numbers and quantities you would like to purchase, along with your complete ship to address. Once we receive this information we will email you a shipping quote. Please note: Canadian shipments have a $50.00 minimum order.

Some of your hinges are sold by the each and some sell by the pair. What is the difference?

When the unit of measure says “pair” that means two hinges. Usually you need one pair of hinges per door. When the unit of measure says “each” that means one hinge. You would usually order 2 “each” hinges per door.

I want to replace my hinges. How do I make sure the screw holes on the new hinge match the screw holes on the old hinge so I do not have to redrill the holes?

Unfortunately, hinge manufacturers have never standardized the location of their screw hole patterns. Every manufacturer puts their screw holes in a slightly different place. This means that when you replace hinges you will almost certainly have to do some filling and redrilling. The exception to this is Architectural door hinges which are built to a standardized template for each size hinge.
