Shutter Strap Hinge

$4890 Per Pair
Strap Length

  • These shutter strap hinges are for "inset" shutters. Shutters are installed flush with the window frame when in the closed position (covering the window).
  • Shutter strap size is available in 4 lengths & 4 different offsets. Shutter strap measures 1-3/4" wide at the widest point. Strap is made from 12 Ga. steel.
  • Shutter may be lifted off of pintles after installation.
  • Hinge and pintle are zinc chromate plated for corrosion resistance and then finished in wrought iron black for a traditional look.
  • Offset strap hinges are sold by the pair. A pair will hang one shutter.
  • These hinges are available in 4 different offsets (1/2",1-1/2", 2-1/4", & 3-1/4") . The offset gives a "throw" which allows the shutter to lay flat against the house when in the open position.
  • The "throw" is approximately double the offset. For example a hinge with a 1/2" offset has about 1" of throw, a hinge with a 1-1/2" offset has about a 3" throw, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get my hardware once it's been ordered?

The delivery time depends on how far you live from our San Diego warehouse. Generally, your order will reach you in 1 to 5 business days. Shipments do not move on weekends and holidays.

Do you ship merchandise outside the United States?

At this time, we only ship to addresses in the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. For APO/FPO/DPO and Canadian orders, please email with a list of the SKU numbers and quantities you would like to purchase, along with your complete ship to address. Once we receive this information we will email you a shipping quote. Please note: Canadian shipments have a $50.00 minimum order.

I have a hinge that I am trying to replace but I need help identifying it. Can you help?

Yes! Please click here to visit our Hinge Finder page.

Some of your hinges are sold by the each and some sell by the pair. What is the difference?

When the unit of measure says “pair” that means two hinges. Usually you need one pair of hinges per door. When the unit of measure says “each” that means one hinge. You would usually order 2 “each” hinges per door.

I want to replace my hinges. How do I make sure the screw holes on the new hinge match the screw holes on the old hinge so I do not have to redrill the holes?

Unfortunately, hinge manufacturers have never standardized the location of their screw hole patterns. Every manufacturer puts their screw holes in a slightly different place. This means that when you replace hinges you will almost certainly have to do some filling and redrilling. The exception to this is Architectural door hinges which are built to a standardized template for each size hinge.
