Dutch door bolts are used to securely fasten a Dutch door's upper leaf to the lower leaf. The design of these doors allows you to unlock the top portion of the door to let fresh air into the home without moving the bottom half. This keeps unwanted critters and strangers out and loved ones and pets in. If you're installing new Dutch doors or simply replacing old bolts, the 4-inch Dutch door bolt is an excellent choice offered in four distinguished color options.
For this Dutch door bolt, the color options are what make it stand apart from others. The bolt itself is made of durable brass with a modern appeal. You may choose from Polished Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Nickel, or Flat Black for the bolt's finish. Match them exactly to the Dutch door's color or choose a finish that acts as a complementary color. At 4 5/16" long, the door bolt is ideal for keeping the door leaves secure when not in use. The matching wood screws are also included with each 4-inch Dutch door bolt so you have everything necessary for installation. Whether you're a homeowner taking on a DIY Dutch door project or a professional who often installs these doors, the Dutch door bolts are great to have on hand.
When ordered, the bolts will ship by the next day! When the unit of measure says “pair” that means two hinges. Usually you need one pair of hinges per door. When the unit of measure says “each” that means one hinge. You would usually order 2 “each” hinges per door.
I want to replace my hinges. How do I make sure the screw holes on the new hinge match the screw holes on the old hinge so I do not have to redrill the holes?
I want to replace my hinges. How do I make sure the screw holes on the new hinge match the screw holes on the old hinge so I do not have to redrill the holes?
Unfortunately, hinge manufacturers have never standardized the location of their screw hole patterns. Every manufacturer puts their screw holes in a slightly different place. This means that when you replace hinges you will almost certainly have to do some filling and redrilling. The exception to this is Architectural door hinges which are built to a standardized template for each size hinge.
