These 3.5" x 3.5" ball bearing hinges are a great upgrade over plain bearing hinges. Ball bearing hinges are more durable and provide a smoother swing with less squeak. These ball bearing hinges are residential grade, meaning the leaves are thinner than those on architectural grade hinges. This makes them an excellent choice for upgrading existing residential grade hinges because the door and jamb do not need to be further mortised out.
