3 Questions asked about 3/8" Partial Inset Finial Hinge, Antique Brass
Q Donna • 01/27/2018, 6:02:41 PM I am looking for this hinge in a brushed nickel. Is there something available?
A 01/30/2018, 11:47:39 AM Unfortunately, the manufacturer of this particular hinge only makes this item in the antique brass finish. The closest option we would carry in terms of style and functionality would be our SKU# 826024, also linked below: https://www.hardwaresource.com/finial-tipped-3-8-inset-hinge.html Note that this hinge is considerably more expensive than the option on this page due to it being made with a solid brass base material. The only other option we would have beyond this is our SKU# 400172, which is also linked below: https://www.hardwaresource.com/3-8-inset-hinge.html This hinge is a bit different than the above two options due to two aspects. First is that it is a self-closing hinge, whereas the previous options were free swinging. This means there is a spring housed within the hinge pin that snaps the door shut once nearly closed. This is done to keep the door shut without the use of a separate latch. The other difference is of course that this hinge does not feature any decorative tips. The way this hinge mounts to the door/frame and the 3/8" inset dimension are the same as the previous options, however. It will also be the least expensive of all three options, as this hinge is sold by the pair.
Q Beth Cragle • 10/22/2018, 10:04:46 PM Do you have this hinge for cabinet doors without the 3/8" partial inset? I have some made in the U.K. by Spegelstein that look just like these except that the tongue of the hinge that attaches to the cabinet door is flat. I am trying to locate something that will appear to be a traditional (historic) butt hinge with a steeple or ball tip but will work with a face frame cabinet box and a partial overlay (flat back, no 3/8" partial inset rabbet) door. Apparently Spegelstein is no longer making hinges? I got those at Lee Valley Hardware.

Q Russ Angione • 02/05/2019, 10:07:43 AM Can I get a 1/2" partial inset 3.5 or 4" finial type hinge ant brass or bronze?
A 02/05/2019, 11:39:19 AM Hi Russ! We aren't going to offer a 1/2" Inset Hinge in a Finial Tipped Style Hinge unfortunately.
