1 Question asked about 1/4" Radius Corner Spring Hinge

Q Nathan Priest • 01/11/2018, 12:22:19 PM Hello and thank you for answering my question. I have a building equipped with Hager 4inch 1/4 radius spring loaded hinges. They are hard to come by now days. The hinge you offer, SKU# 760114 looks to be the same as what I have. Our door frames are fire rated "Timely" brand. Will your hinges match the screw pattern from a Hager hinge of the same visual appearance? The info on my hinges are 426-R door closer body R7189
A 01/12/2018, 11:38:40 AM Hello Nathan, The size and hole pattern is the same, what might not be the same is the leaf thickness. The hinge leaf thickness for our Bommer brand hinge is .130" (or just over 1/8" thickness.) We call this grade of hinge (.130" leaf thickness) an architectural grade hinge. It is possible that the Hager hinge you have installed is a residential grade hinge (.90" or ~3/32" leaf thickness) if so, our hinge may possibly be too thick, but, from what we understand, both will fit a timely frame without issue. Note that ours come with all woods screws and half machine screws, i.e. 8 wood screws and 4 machine screws per hinge. Some installations don't use the machine screws, say if both door and jamb are wood. But, Timely jambs are metal and will use wood screws on the door side and machine screws on the jamb side.
