All About Soss Invisible Hinges

in Soss Hinges

The Soss Invisible Hinge is a very unique piece of hardware. It is a hinge that is completely invisible or concealed from both the outside and the inside of the door when the door is in the closed position. At HardwareSource.com, we carry 11 sizes of Soss Hinges in 5 different finishes (Satin Brass, Satin Chrome, Black Epoxy and Satin and Polished Stainless Steel). Click here to go right to our selection of Soss Invisible Hinges.

The smallest Soss hinge is made for a door or lid that is at least 1/2″ in thickness and the largest Soss hinge is made for a 2″ or thicker door.

Soss hinges are strong, safe and secure. When the door is closed the Soss Hinge cannot be seen or tampered with. When opened the Soss hinge pin is not removable. The moving pivot point remains inside the hinge during travel until the door is fully opened. This eliminates a potential pinch point on the back side of the door. When the Soss Invisible hinge is installed, it is firmly anchored in a deep, full mortise which assists the screws in supporting the door, assuring a stronger, more rigid installation. Soss Invisible hinges are designed to give dependable operation for years.  Soss Hinges are made of high strength plated steel and heavy duty zinc alloy castings.

Installation

Soss Hinges are easy to install. They can be installed with a power drill and drill bit or with a router. Detailed instructions and a paper template are included with the purchase of all Soss Hinges. For the professional installer or the frequent Soss hinge user, router guides and templates are available. HardwareSource.com stocks Soss router guides and templates for all of the Soss hinge models.
