Important Information
- When installing an electric hinge, it must be placed as the middle hinge only.
- All electrified hinges have fixed pins. The hinge pin is not removable.
- A mortar guard is required for all applications which have a grout-filled door frame. This may be special ordered if necessary. Failure to install a mortar guard for this application will void any warranty on these hinges.
- These hinges are sold by the each. You would normally order one electrified hinge and two (or more) non-electrified hinges per door.

There are four wires per hinge, however, other configurations are available by special order. This option is also a ball bearing hinge, which is perfect for doors with door closers. It's important to note a few things about the electrified steel butt hinge. These are meant to only be used as the middle hinge, with two non-electrified hinges on either side. The delivery time depends on how far you live from our San Diego warehouse. Generally, your order will reach you in 1 to 5 business days. Shipments do not move on weekends and holidays.

When the unit of measure says “pair” that means two hinges. Usually you need one pair of hinges per door. When the unit of measure says “each” that means one hinge. You would usually order 2 “each” hinges per door.
I want to replace my hinges. How do I make sure the screw holes on the new hinge match the screw holes on the old hinge so I do not have to redrill the holes?

Unfortunately, hinge manufacturers have never standardized the location of their screw hole patterns. Every manufacturer puts their screw holes in a slightly different place. This means that when you replace hinges you will almost certainly have to do some filling and redrilling. The exception to this is Architectural door hinges which are built to a standardized template for each size hinge.
